The land first.

In 2021 we bought raw land in Houston, Alaska, and started building a homestead. We are still at it. Paper birch on the south slope, white spruce along the western edge, Labrador tea on the ridge we did not believe until we saw it bloom.

We work and live on the acreage. To keep the harvest sustainable we also gather in the local region where permitted. Standing forest is what keeps the bit we work on functioning. We are trying to leave more than we take.

Off-grid. No walk-in.

There is no storefront on this place. The shop is a kettle, a shed, and a box for the post. Friends asked us to put the goods in reach of people beyond our kitchen table, so we opened the mercantile. That is still the idea. You are the one doing the work. We are the ones handing you a tin.

The remaining 2026 tables: one more Friday at Willow, then Saturdays at Common Ground through September, including the Apple Festival. After 26 Sep we ship from Houston. If a date is not on the list, we are not there.

The standards we keep.

• We hand-gather wild-crafted botanicals for our ingredients.
• We do not use preservatives we cannot pronounce. Vitamin E and beeswax are the full shelf-life toolkit on most of what we make.
• Veteran-owned, in fact and in spirit.
• Liliana etches in the homestead shop. Richard and Aimee keep the kettle.
